The Kober Zombie Evolution EFC is an inexpensive whitewater paddle with a foam core. The fiberglass laminate with the integrated EFC full foam core keeps the price and weight low. The Dynel edge protects the laminate from damage when it comes into contact with stones. The guide rib on the front and the foam core give the paddle blade high rigidity. As usual, Kober does without unnecessary stiffening ribs on the back of the blade. This avoids turbulence when pulling the paddle. This hydrodynamic design guarantees the Zombie fantastic driving characteristics with maximum efficiency.
The slightly flexing fiberglass shaft is easy on the wrists, both with strong pulls and with stone contact. With the T7 division, this paddle can be disassembled into two parts and, if necessary, adjusted in length and number of degrees. This makes the paddle particularly suitable for long flights and small storage space. The T7 division consists of an aluminum clamping ring with a quick release. This means that the paddle cannot shift even under heavy loads. The interlocking shaft parts allow the paddle length to be increased by up to 10 cm.
Since May 2023, Kober has also been using the improved T7 pitch for whitewater paddles. The slot on the quick release was rounded off towards the inside. The load at the transition from the quick release to the paddle shaft is therefore reduced. In addition, the inner sleeve, which engages with the quick release or the shaft tube, was additionally reinforced with carbon. This is intended to reduce shaft breaks of the paddle at the pitch. However, a break, especially when touching the bottom during the Eskimo roll or when using the paddle bridge (inappropriately), can never be completely ruled out in white water!
