With the Nitro Light, Lettmann is launching a whitewater paddle with protruding blades and an exclusively straight shaft on the market for the first time. With the Vario division, the paddle can also be easily transported in the car or on a packraft tour.
The blade is offset to the front in relation to the shaft. The pressure point on the hand is also shifted forward and the paddle has a longer pull path. The smooth back of the blade avoids turbulence when pulling the paddle. Water flows past the profiled paddle blade on the inside more easily and thus creates a negative pressure in the water, which makes it easier to pull the blade through the current. Pressure builds up evenly on the blade, allowing for more controlled movement in the water. In this way you create a strong, flutter-free pull.
The combination of carbon, glass and aramid fibers ensure high stability with a slight flex in the paddle. The term light refers to the number of layers on top of each other. This is how the paddle achieves a phenomenal light weight of only 830-850 grams! Nevertheless, the blade is well protected even if it comes into frequent contact with stones thanks to the surrounding aramid edge. Thanks to the foam core, the paddle has high flexural rigidity. The steering maneuvers are even more effective with this paddle and the propulsion will immediately convince you of the Lettmann Nitro Light.
The Lettmann Nitro Light's Vario division 26 WW consists of an aluminum clamping ring with a quick release. This allows the paddle to be lengthened in any number of degrees and for test purposes up to 10 cm. For standard use, an extension of only up to 6 cm is recommended.
Of course there is Nitro Light also available as a one-piece paddle
The paddle is also as Nitro with a little more composite and as a Nitro Extreme with a lot more layers available.
