The Mergner Distance Highend is the perfect touring paddle with a wide range of uses. Due to its narrow paddle blades, the paddle offers a smaller contact surface for water and wind, which makes it easier for the paddler to paddle against the wind and with little effort. For full power transmission, the paddle is completely immersed, to save energy you only use the front part of the paddle.
The front area of โโthe blade is constructed in such a way that the water can flow away. This way, minimal effort is required to position the leaf in the water. It almost stabilizes itself when immersed, which makes it very pleasant to paddle.
In the rear area of โโthe blade, the slight groove across the longitudinal axis ensures that a lot of force can be transferred to the water during further immersion. Furthermore, the leaf surfaces are shifted a little forwards in order to support the basic stroke as best as possible.
The shaft of the paddle is made of fiberglass with two incorporated layers of carbon to allow maximum rigidity and good power transmission. There is also the option of a divisible shaft (PRS Plus version). This means that the paddle can be divided in the middle, halving its pack size.
The Mergner Distance is available in two blade sizes as well as different settings and paddle lengths (210 cm - 230 cm, longer lengths on request). The blades are made of carbon fiber reinforced polyamide (PAC). These carbon fibers ensure increased rigidity of the blade and minimize flex when the paddle is pulled.
The Mergner Distance High End is too with full carbon shaft and as a divisible paddle with Vario division available
