One of the most popular boats of 2020 and 2021!
THE FIRST CROSSOVER KAYAK FROM PRIJON WITH SKEG!
Ideal for a multi-day tour through wild gorges, lonely meadow streams and calm lakes!
Derived from a whitewater kayak, the hull makes the Prijon Munga very manoeuvrable and therefore a very versatile kayak.
Manufacturer Prijon says ...
The waterproof sealed luggage compartment at the rear and the day hatch in front of the cockpit offer sufficient storage space for your next adventure.
The fold-out, continuously adjustable Skeg system is used on shallow water and gives the kayak incredible directional stability. With the skeg fully extended, the Munga lies calm and stable in the water and enables you to glide over stagnant water with little effort - this makes paddling straight ahead child's play!
The Munga is equipped with a comfortable seating system consisting of the tried and tested tour seat, side hip pads, a back strap that can be adjusted with ratchets and the individually adjustable 3D thigh supports - which guarantees a good hold in the boat and easy entry and exit. The baffle plate also ensures excellent grip and safety.
Rear storage space: 50 liters
The Toros Team Says ...
We tested the Munga during our 4-day tour on the Tagliamento (Northern Italy). With WW I-II + in the sportier sections we could of course not fully extend the crossover kayak. After a number of draughty eddies and sharp currents, however, we allow ourselves a first conclusion: he can do white water! Compared to the Enduros or the Dayliner L, which we also had with us, completely different maneuvers are possible. Nevertheless, the Munga is not wobbly and lies safely and calmly in the water, even for touring riders with current experience. On the other hand, if the river flows calmly (or sometimes not at all for a while), the Skeg is worth its weight in gold. Clean straight-line stability and directional stability, slight cross currents have practically no effect. Anyone who is unsure about sharp eddies will appreciate the Skeg as a stabilizer.
On the subject of payload: If you are staying three nights, including two dinners on the gravel bank, you have to pack cleanly. But everything went in, and is quickly accessible via the easily accessible bulkheads.
So much for the opinion of the Toros canoe instructor team. And always: try it yourself! The Munga is part of the Toros test fleet.
