The WRSI Current is a simple whitewater helmet with maximum safety in all situations. WRSI stands for Whitewater Research and Safety Institute. Founded in the USA after a series of serious accidents where poorly designed helmets were the cause of serious head injuries, WRSI helmets have been setting the standard for over 15 years.
The WRSI Current consists of a three-shell structure with a base shell made of polyurethane, a cushioning layer made of EVA foam and a comfortable, removable inner liner. This also effectively shields strong blows. The heart of the WRSI research is the Interconnect Retention System, which keeps the helmet in position at all times. Here, the helmet is brought back into position by the intelligently designed straps, even in the event of hard water pressure or after massive impacts.
In contrast to CurrentPro the Current has no ear flaps. These can, however, with the WRSI earflaps be retrofitted.
