The Palm screw carabiner belongs in the safety set of all paddlers: inside in white water. To set up anchors and fuses are Wire clip carabiner unsatisfactory! The snapper of the carabiner engages in a key lock and is screwed shut with the threaded locking sleeve. In this way, the snapper cannot open unintentionally and get caught in the backrest, for example, even in tricky situations. In contrast to the wire clip variant, this carabiner does not require a nose for a secure closure. So no ropes or slings can get caught in the nose notch when hanging and unhooking. The screw carabiner from Palm is made of anodized aluminum, as is usual in climbing. With the UIAA certification, it is even approved for this!
For fast applications such as am Cowtail we recommend Twist-Lock carabiners like e.g Palm Auto Lock
