The Ride is the latest children's kayak from Corran Addison from Soul Waterman. This time it's one size larger in comparison Mini me and Mini Monkey. The ride is a fully-fledged children's kayak in the style of a modern half slicer. Slightly shorter than children's kayaks from other brands, this boat is intended for 8 to 12 year olds.
The shape of the ride is based on the Soul Waterman Glide. The tip of the kayak has a lot of rocker to safely navigate the big waves. The tail is flat in typical half-slice style and also has a slight rocker. The volume is centered around the cockpit and thus ensures dry running. This still leaves enough length at the bow and stern to undercut the kayak for the first time. With a flat bottom, the ride has good running characteristics and can be spun wonderfully on waves.
The kayak is very wide in relation to its length. This means the boat is stable in the water. The downwardly angled edges ensure that side currents cannot easily press on the upper ship. The Soul Waterman Ride kayak is equipped with the Performance children's seat system as standard. This consists of a plastic seat shell specifically for children and an adjustable back strap.
