You think we can only go east? You don't know us well! Long before Scheuer became a Bavarian, there was primarily one travel destination in summer: the south of France and the Aosta Valley! Well, old love never rusts. And so in late summer 2024 we will take you to the mountainous heart of the Western Alps. To rivers that we love, and which are still a blank spot on the paddling globe for most paddlers in Central Europe. The Dora Baltea drains the south side of Mont Blanc and, together with its tributaries, is a real glacier stream area. Small and large rivers have a daily cycle determined by the melt.
The best prerequisite for getting close to your personal ideal water level. In addition to short, technical stages on the side streams, the honor belongs to the queen: the Dora Baltea. It awaits us with truly powerful water, in partly open, partly ravine stages. Cold, strong, crisp. The Ötz of Italy – in the best sense.
The Isére, on the other hand, seems much milder and the valley is much less alpine. Paddling is fun here. For decades, the reliable power plant outlet has provided canoe schools and raft companies with income. No wonder, for almost 30 km the river serves us playful dream white water full of surfing waves, rollers and sharp eddylines. We enjoy the Isère for four full days, and it certainly won't be boring.
A real plus of this trip: With just one change of area (and ending at the Dranse) and always short journey times to the daily stages, there is plenty of time to relax at the camp. Click here for the complete tour description.

Important:
Weather and water conditions may require changes to the route and the choice of river at short notice. The chances of warm, sunny weather in the Western Alps are good, but periods of rain are possible. In addition, the water levels are dependent on the glacier melt. Thus, individual stages may not be feasible due to too little or too much water. In any case, high-quality alternatives are provided.
