Greece in May - The Arachthos Camps

Our Arachthos camps in May are the ideal introduction to experiencing the most famous streams in northern Greece within a week. Two rivers, five stages, a base camp, supplemented by day tours to dream streams in the surrounding area. The village of Plaka at the exit of the mighty Arachthos Canyon lies in the heart of the outdoor Eldorado Tzoumerka and is the ideal base for all paddlers and outdoor athletes. Whether in the lovingly designed Hotel Teloneio or the Via Natura Camping located on the river - during the Arachthos camps you will experience a paddling holiday in the perfect ambience for you!

Requirements:

• Independent navigation of streams in white water II-III
• Driving knowledge of boat type: whitewater kayak, whitewater canoe or packraft
• Knowledge of safe behavior when swimming in whitewater
• Knowledge of the use of throw bags and safety equipment
• Generally good physical condition

Content:

• 6 paddling days on the most beautiful wild rivers of northern Greece
• Depending on the group size, supervision by one or two kayak instructors
• Upon request, training in paddling technique, safety and riding tactics
• Maximum six participants per kayak instructor
• Break day in the middle of the week
• On request, complete logistics from/to Preveza airport
• Assistance with flight booking (flights with Condor directly to the area!)

Accommodation:

All nights can be spent in the hotel. In Plaka we are guests in the Hotel "Teloneio". Those who prefer to camp can climb the Via Natura Camping .

Toros Outdoors only establishes contact with local drivers and guesthouses and the camp participants settle these services directly with the local entrepreneurs.

Cost:

• Price includes guiding, canoe training, organization of the tour
• Kayaks and paddles can be rented from us for a fee.
• There are additional costs for: Arrival, logistics on site, accommodation, meals
• The costs for logistics are passed on to the participants. The shuttle costs for tours around the camp are 10 to 15 euros per person. More distant destinations correspondingly more expensive.

Important:

Weather and water conditions may require short-term changes to route and river selection. Although May in Greece is mostly sunny, a few rainy days are possible. In addition, the water levels depend heavily on the snow conditions. This means that individual stages may not be possible due to too little or too much water. In any case, top-class alternatives are provided.
