With the Ion, Pyranha brings an affordable crossover kayak onto the market. The Ion is a bit shorter and slimmer than the Pyranha Fusion II. However, the boat remains suitable for lakes, rivers and light white water (WW III).
The narrow width gives the Ion excellent handling characteristics on calm waters and ensures that every lake is quickly crossed. A foldable skeg further improves directional stability.
For use in whitewater, the skeg can be folded in via a cable pull on the luggage hatch. Due to the usual strong edge and the narrow width, the Ion can also be driven sportily in white water. The short length gives the boat excellent manoeuvrability. Like all whitewater boats, the Ion is made of durable MZ3 plastic. This means that stone contacts are no problem.
The necessary material for a multi-day tour can be stowed in the large hatch in the rear of the boat. The hatch is closed with a hatch cover made of hard rubber. The Stout seating system also comes in a slimmed-down version without the ability to adjust the back strap from the boat. The thigh supports are part of the cover and are additionally padded. This means that the Ion only weighs 20 kg and is also easier to store thanks to its short length.
