The Werner Odachi is a whitewater paddle with blades made of pure carbon. The blade is made of carbon with a central foam core rib. This stiffens the blade considerably and allows for a smooth, flutter-free stroke โ even with a strong paddling arm. The two sides of the leaf to the right and left of the foam rib are oriented in a V shape. With this technology from aircraft construction, the blade stabilizes itself along the axis of the shaft. Compared to the Werner Surge, the blade is longer and wider. The symmetrical blade shape is based on canoe racing and is therefore optimized for the forward stroke. The upstream blade allows even more traction to be applied to the blade. A Dynelยฎ edge protects the blades from abrasion when used in rocky white water.
The carbon shaft ensures high rigidity and low weight. As an adaptation to the open hand, Werner does not build the grip areas in an oval shape as usual, but instead in a teardrop shape.
Particularly popular with many paddlers: The shaft of the Werner Odachi is also available with a narrow diameter.
The Werner Odachi is also available with an Ergo stock.

Details
- The blade is positioned high in relation to the shaft, allowing for a strong, steep paddle pull
- Race-oriented symmetrical blade shape optimized for vertical paddling
- Shovel-shaped blade for even more propulsion
- The V-shape of the blade surfaces allows for smooth and stable forward paddling, a core philosophy of Werner
- Optimized Flex and Strength - Engineered to relieve stress on the body without sacrificing traction
- Carbon blades and shaft ensure an optimal balance between stiffness, flexibility and weight
- Dynelยฎ edge protects blades from abrasion
- Carbon shaft available in standard or small diameter
