Basic course WW I

Your first experience – of hopefully many – in the most beautiful sport in the world! In the Toros basic course you will take your first steps in a whitewater kayak and get to know the appeal of moving water. Regardless of whether you have never been in a boat before or have previous experience from other areas of canoeing: If you have little or no contact with dynamic paddling on flowing water, then you have come to the right place! Our canoe instructors will take you carefully by the hand and show you the world of their preferred leisure activity with fun and expertise. In Lofer an der Saalach you will also get to know the beauty of a typical torrent in the Austrian Northern Alps.

You spend the first of the two days relaxing at Pillersee in Ortisei and first familiarize yourself with the material. As soon as the life jacket is in the right position, you go out onto the water with a mountain backdrop and you learn the basic techniques of kayaking through fun and games. Coffee break with panorama included!
On the second day of the course you will go on running water for the first time. On an easy section of the Saalach you will get to know the thrill and the basic techniques of whitewater rafting, of course professionally supervised by your canoe instructor.

You can rent all equipment, including a boat and paddle, from us for a fee and have it brought to the course location.

Accommodation and catering

We recommend camping on the Camping Grubhof, which serves as a meeting point on the second day of the course at the latest and usually also houses the canoe instructors. There is usually enough space available for us on the pre-announced course weekends, even for possible arrival on the evening before the course. Of course, you are free to take advantage of other accommodation offers instead.
The food is also up to you. Whether it's cereal in the morning or breakfast in the cafe, cooking together in the evening or gluttony in the restaurant - you decide spontaneously on the spot. There are plenty of shopping opportunities and restaurants on site.

Other important information

You should generally be in a physical condition that allows you to sit in the boat, stay outdoors for several hours, and move around and in the water.
Please inform us about any restrictions when registering!

Every booking should be preceded by a telephone call with us if we do not already know you from the course operations.

We ask for your understanding that the course location and thus possibly also the accommodation can change spontaneously in an emergency if weather and/or water levels at the regular location make it impossible for a course to take place.

In principle, we can only hold each course with enough participants. In individual cases, this can only be clarified a few weeks before the course date. Your registration, and thus the safe completion of the course, is only binding for both parties once the invoice has been issued. Completing the digital registration on the website does not constitute a binding obligation.

We would like to point out that cancellation after a firm booking (invoicing) is at the expense of the purchaser and we therefore recommend travel cancellation insurance. You can do this in detail in our AGB’s ...
